App-specific password not working for email or third-party apps

App-specific passwords are case-sensitive and can't have typos or extra spaces — one small mistake and they won't work. First, check you're copying it without any spaces before or after. If you're not 100% sure it's exactly right, generate a new one and try again.

App-specific passwords are special passwords you create for apps that don't support your regular two-factor security.
