Your email account has been hacked - what to do now

Act immediately. First, change your password from a different device or on a friend's computer to prevent the hacker from changing it again. Then check your account recovery settings to make sure the hacker has not locked you out. Finally, scan your devices for malware and enable two-factor authentication to prevent future hacks.
